Male Trictena atripalpis, incorrectly identified as a female of Abantiades magnificus. Both sexes of Abantiades magnificus have a forewing bearing two silver streaks with straight margins, with size reduced for females. The silver streaks in Trictena atripalpis have irregular margins as shown in this photo. Female Abantiades and Trictena also have antennae with much reduced pectinations, whereas the pectinations are clearly visible on this specimen. Trictena males are also tripectinate as shown in this specimen, whereas Abantiades males have two pectinations. It would be appreciated if this identification is corrected and moved from an association with Abantiades magnificus.
