IU version 1 consisted of four tubular pressurized containers attached on the inside to a central hub and on the outside to a cylindrical wall 58 inches high and 154 inches in diameter. While the IU did not extend into the spacecraft, the hub extended into the forward skirt on top of the S-IV stage. |
