Removal of Superfluous Hair. f.. 0 rator is Wearing with liinocuiar Magnif. i 104 THE SKIN METHOD OF PROCEDURE The patient should be seated in a comfortable positionor possibly, better still, should assume a nearly recliningposition in such a manner that the direct light will fall upQnthe portion to be operated upon. The battery may then bebrought into play and after the current is turned on to sayfour cells as a beginning, the patient may be instructed tohold the well moistened electrode, and the bulbous needleattached to negative pole should then be passed gently downthe side of the hair into the follicle. As shown in the cuton the skin there is a slight construction at the mouth ofthe follicle, so many times this little impediment to thepassage of the needle will occur. Ordinarily, however, theuse of the needle causes the entrance to be effected veryeasily, and in fact it is by the sense of touch as well asby evidence of the eyes that the expert operator knowsshe is doing good work
