Mélanie Auffan, née en 1979[1], est une chercheuse en géoscience de l'environnement. Elle est directrice en Environnement et Développement durable au sein du Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS).

Elle soutient sa thèse de doctorat sur les « nanoparticules d'oxydes métalliques : relations entre la réactivité de surface et des réponses biologiques » à l'Université Aix-Marseille 3 en 2007[2]. Elle fait ensuite un postdoctorat à l’Université de Duke aux États-Unis[3].

Carrière professionnelle

De 2016 à 2017, elle est responsable de l’équipe “Interfaces et Transfert” et, en 2018, responsable de l’équipe “Environnement Durable” au Centre de recherche et d’enseignement des géosciences de l’environnement[4].

Déléguée scientifique au CNRS en 2023, elle passe à directrice adjointe du CEREGE en 2024[5].

Par la suite, elle est devenue directrice de recherche CNRS au CEREGE d'Université d’Aix-Marseille. Ses travaux portent sur les interactions entre les nanomatériaux et le vivant[3].
