modifierCette espèce se rencontre en Afrique du Sud, au Botswana, au Zimbabwe, au Mozambique, au Malawi, en Zambie et au Congo-Kinshasa[1].
Taxinomie
modifierLes sous-espèces Pachydactylus capensis affinis, Pachydactylus capensis oshaughnessyi, Pachydactylus capensis katanganus, Pachydactylus capensis tigrinus et Pachydactylus capensis vansoni ont été élevées au rang d'espèce.
Étymologie
modifierSon nom d'espèce, composé de cap et du suffixe latin -ensis, « qui vit dans, qui habite », lui a été donné en référence au lieu de sa découverte, la province du Cap.
