modifierSystématique et taxinomie
modifierCette espèce a été décrite sous le protonyme Trechona auronitens par Keyserling en 1891. Elle est placée dans le genre Crypsidromus par Simon en 1903[4], dans le genre Metriopelma par Pocock en 1903[5], dans le genre Pycnothele par Gerschman et Schiapelli en 1970[6], dans le genre Pycnothelopsis par Pérez-Miles et Capocasale en 1983[7] puis dans le genre Pycnothele par Raven en 1985[8].
