La Demande de médiation est l'avant-dernier moyen de résoudre les conflits sur Wikipédia. Les demande de médiations sont prises en charge par les membres du Comité de médiation. Une médiation est une manière officielle mais volontaire d'aider les contributeurs à trouver un accord mutuel afin de résoudre un conflit sur le contenu des articles. La médiation ne dispense pas de résolution contraignantes aux conflits, les médiateurs ne peuvent pas, ne doivent pas, et ne vont pas délivrer des décisions aux conflits.
Avant de demander une médiation, les parties doivent tenter d'autre méthodes de résolution de conflits, comme les Wikipompiers, sans quoi la demande peut être rejetée.
Le Comité de Médiation acceptent les nouvelles demandes uniquement si toutes les parties du conflit déclarent vouloir prendre part à la médiation. Les parties disposent de sept jours à compter de l'ouverture de la déposition de la demande de médiation pour indiquer leur consentement. On attend de de la part des parties qu'elles suivent la progression de la médiation, notamment en mettant la page dans leur liste de suivi.
Le Comité de Médiation utilise et fait respecter une structure stricte pour chaque requêtes, laquelle sera automatiquement créée en créant la page à l'aide de la boîte ci-dessous. Un guide pour remplir une demande de médiation est disponible ci-dessous. Si la médiation est déclarée recevable, cela indique que les conditions pour la médiation ont été remplies. Toutefois, les requêtes ne sont pas assignées aux médiateurs, qui ont la liberté de se proposer ou non en tant que médiateurs.

- Vous ne devez pas :
- Ne pas débattre sur cette page ni sur la page de la demande de médiation. Le débat commence après que la médiation ait été acceptée, et se déroule sur la page de discussion de la requête. Si vous désirer discuter de la méthode de médiation, veuillez le faire sur la page de discussion.
Guide pour remplir une demande
modifierStep 1: Nature of dispute
Ensure the dispute is about content.
The Mediation Committee only deals with content disputes. Due to limitations of the mediation model and our general scope, we will refuse to intervene in user conduct disputes.
Therefore, all issues listed in a request for mediation (below; step 5) should about content, and none about conduct. Conduct issues will be summarily removed by a member of the Committee, usually the Chair, and if there's no substantial issues left after this is done then the request will most likely be rejected.
Furthermore, ensure that the prior dispute resolution steps (below; step 2) relate to content only, and not conduct.
- If your dispute is about conduct: please use the processes of editor assistance, Wikiquette alerts, requests for comment (on users), and arbitration.
- If your dispute is about content: move to step 2.
Step 2: Prior dispute resolution
Ensure prior dispute resolution has been tried.
The Mediation Committee and requests for mediation is the second-last step in the dispute resolution chain on Wikipedia. Wikipedia:Resolving disputes lists the various types of dispute resolution available. They include:-
- Discussion on the article talk page, and attempt negotiation
- Solicit third party input:-
- Mediation Cabal (informal mediation)
It is generally expected that at least one of the third party input options has been attempted, and informal mediation has been tried, before a request for mediation will be accepted. Discussion on the talk page, whilst required for any form of dispute resolution to be considered, does not fufill the requirement of 'prior dispute resolution'.
- If you feel there has been insufficient prior dispute resolution attempted: please try and resolve your dispute in good faith via the avenues listed above.
- If you feel there has been sufficient prior dispute resolution attempted: move to step 3.
Step 3: Creating request
File the request for mediation.
Firstly, identify the main article in the dispute. If there's only one article, that's easy enough; however, for disputes spanning a number of articles on the same subject area, please choose the most practical one. For example, if it is a dispute involving the articles ''Topic'', ''Topic'' in popular culture, Controversies about ''Topic'', and Category:''Topic'', the main article would obviously be Topic.
Once this has been identified, go to Wikipedia:Requests for mediation#Instructions. Insert the name of the main article in the dispute at the end of the "Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/" in the input box. For example, if the dispute is about the article Swimming, the text in the input box should now read:
Now, click the "file request" button.
- If you couldn't get this step to work or need assistance in creating the case page: contact the Chair of the Committee, Wikipédia:Mediation Committee/Chair Username, on his [[User talk:Wikipédia:Mediation Committee/Chair Username|talk page]].
- If you get to a screen where the first line of text in the edit box is "=={{subst:SUBPAGENAME}}==": move to step 4.
Step 4: Filling in details, part one
Provide details about the involved parties and articles, as well as prior dispute resolution.
By this stage you should have a page on it with a large amount of text, starting with "=={{subst:SUBPAGENAME}}==" on the first line and finishing with "<noinclude>[[Category:Mediation Committee pending cases|Sample]]</noinclude>" on the bottom line.
Now you need to provide some basic details. First up, go down to the line "===Involved parties===". Below it you'll see the T1 template being used. Replace "Example" with the usernames of everyone involved substantially in the dispute. If you have more than two, create copies of the template and place them below the two originals and fill in the usernames.
Next up is the "===Articles involved===" line. This is the same as the username process detailed above, except this uses the T1 template. The articles you identified as under dispute (above; step 3) should be listed using the T1 template in a similar manner to the T1 templates were; copy and paste as required, but try to keep the list as concise and specific as possible.
Finally, the "===Other steps in [[Wikipedia:Resolving disputes|dispute resolution]] that have been attempted===" step. The prior dispute resolution that you identified previously (above; step 2) should be listed here, with direct links to the Mediation Cabal case/requests for comment section on the article talk/third opinion response etc.
- If you need help with any of the above three points of information: click "save page" (the request can be blank while you ask for assistance), and contact the Chair of the Committee, Wikipédia:Mediation Committee/Chair Username, on his [[User talk:Wikipédia:Mediation Committee/Chair Username|talk page]].
- If you've filled in these three points of information with no dramas, queries or confusion: click "save page" and move to step 5.

Common reasons for rejection
Parties do not agree to mediation
- In order for a request for mediation to be accepted, all parties must sign the case page in agreement. When filing an RfM, notify all parties that it exists; they must sign—and furthermore, agree—before the case is accepted. If they fail to sign, or sign a disagreement, the case will be rejected.

Remember: mediators do not decide cases, they facilitate agreement between the parties. Mediation is often confused with arbitration: mediation is voluntarily initiated by the parties, and relies on the willingness of the parties to abide by the agreement reached; arbitration is enacted at the direction of the Arbitration Committee, and is binding on all parties.
It is the responsibility of the initiating party (the individual(s) bringing the request) to inform all parties of the request. Initiators of a request are expected to use Modèle:Tls to inform other parties of the request, and to place (tl) at the top of the article's talk page, in order to inform other interested parties. If all parties to a request do not indicate their acceptance of mediation within seven days, the request will be rejected without prejudice (that is, it may be revived at any time if the parties indicate acceptance of mediation, or a new mediation request may be filed).ouh la vache chat =^^= je vais jamais y arriver !
How to garner agreement
As documented above, all parties to a dispute must agree to the case in order for it to be accepted. Facilitating this is a simple process: the filing party should simply add to the talk page of all dispute parties Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/OpenNote. Use the utility below to do so:
If the party name is User:AGK, add to the end of User talk: the text "AGK", such that the box now contains User talk:AGK (and nothing else). Press "Notify this party."
