Utilisateur:Ian Streeter/Composition title naming conventions
(Redirigé depuis Utilisateur:Ian Streeter/Capitalization naming conventions)
In books, songs, albums etc., every word should be capitalized except:
- Any preposition shorter than five characters (of, to, on, in, for, with)
- Articles (a, an, the)
- Coordinating conjuctions (and, but, or, nor, [only if this is used as a conjuction] yet)
The following words (many are believed to be uncapitalized) should be capitalized:
- the first and last word of the title
- every adjective, adverb, noun or pronoun (Me, It, His etc.), verbs [especially verbs like to be to be uncapitalized]: (Be, Am, Is, Was, Are, Were, Been)
If songs are parenthesized, treat them like they are two separate titles except if the last word of the parenthesized title is a preposition, article, or coordinating conjuction ["(Don't Fear) The Reaper", "(The Same Thing Happens with) The Birds and the Bees"]
In French (and all other languages except English) are all words to be uncapitalized ("Aff un zo").
NOTE: I got most of this information from en:MOS:CT and just copied it from there but in my own words.
