The Dubai Ranking™, is the only annual publication of world Doctorates of Business Administration (DBA) rankings. The table is compiled and issued by the Dubai Ranking™ organization in Dubai. It has been created and published for the first time in 2020 by a board and committee of 26 members. The Dubai Ranking™ is a fully independent organization dedicating to research on higher education intelligence and consultation for DBA programs. The Dubai ranking presents the best doctoral programs from the world's leading universities based on transparent methodology and objective third-party data, making it the first global DBA ranking with multifarious indicators.

The Dubai Ranking™ annually publishes a general ranking of DBA, as well as an Executive Ranking, Innovative Pedagogical Ranking and CSR Ranking. Schools are also rated accordingly to their location (continents). In addition, a special prize is awarded to school or university having a DBA with less than 3 years of existence.

Creation of the Dubai Ranking™

modifier

The Dubai Ranking™ was created in April 2020, by the initiative of Ms. Edith Chalhoub, spouse of Anthony Chalhoub (Son of Michel Chalhoub, founder of the Chalhoub Group),

Ms Edith Chalhoub, quote « Having a son, Mr. Michel A. Chalhoub who is a doctorate student, I was concerned about this lack of links between research, science, students and companies. This is the reason I decided to launch and lead upon the impulsion of academics and CEO’s, a new international ranking named Dubai Ranking™ . My son being a doctorate researcher in artificial intelligence and luxury (he published recently in Harvard Business Review Arabia), which leads me to get involved in this non-profit cause. I try to do my best to help the board of directors and the committee that works daily for this ranking which is for me a way to boost the credibility of Dubai in term of education. »

Concept
modifier

The Dubai Ranking is based on the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), also known as Shanghai Ranking but was created to offer a ranking of DBAs (Doctorates of Business Administration) only. The ranking is based on many criteria permitting an objective evaluation of participating schools and university.

The participation in the ranking is voluntary and at the business schools request.

DBA program must meet certain criteria to be eligible :

  1. The DBA must be cohort-based, with at least 3 years of existence, starting the first registration, students enrolling and graduating together; and with at least 5 graduates before the 5th year of existence; 10 graduates after the 5th year of existence

The ranking is based on specific criteria such as :

Data for the ranking are collected using one online survey, completed by participating schools :

  1. Number of CEO or owners among the DBA students in the total population of the program (1,25 point)
  2. DBA program Fees: affordability VS international academic partnership (1,25 point)
  3. Number of executive scholarships of Excellency delivered to students in a school year (1,25 point)
  4. Number of chairs of executive research dedicated to the DBA Program (1,25 point)
  5. Number of international locations where the DBA program can be studied (1,25 point)
  6. Career progress after the DBA program: % of CEO, Executive manager, and managers. It is calculated according to changes in the level of seniority and the size of company alumni work in now, versus before their DBA (3,75 points)
  7. Does your institution donate financially to accredited NGO or civil society (United Nations Affiliated NGO) (1,25 point)
  8. Did you implement Artificial Intelligence programs and Deep learning analysis of your pedagogical contents (1,25 point)
  9. Do you offer e-learning (1,25 point)
  10. Do you optimize your price and make the DBA price more affordable with the using of new technologies(0,75 point)
  11. Number of academics and executive seminars organized (1,25 point)
  12. Number of publications published in academic papers (1,25 point)
  13. Women-men parity percentage faculty (0,5 point)
  14. Women-men parity percentage students (0,5 point)
  15. Does your institution have an accreditation such as AACBS, AMBA, EPAS, EQUIS, WSCUC. (2 points)
  • When a respondent neither answers a question nor completes it with the appropriate pieces of evidence, its points will be downgraded or not be integrated in the final score.
  • The International Dubai DBA annual ranking is relative. Schools are ranked against each other rather than against set standards. The IDDBA annual ranking calculates the Z-scores for each criterion. (Z-scores show how far a school data is from the mean and are unitless, so they allow the ranking to be based on very different criteria (salary, percentages and points.)
  • These scores are then weighted as outlined in the ranking key and added together for a final score.
