Il est l'auteur en 1647 Christian Astrology, un ouvrage coté par les tenants de l'astrologie traditionnelle[1]. Il est dit « le vrai père de l'astrologie britannique »[2]. Contrairement à la légende, il n'aurait pas prédit de façon précise l'incendie de Londres de 1666[3].
Le roi Charles Ier l'a souvent consulté[4].
