- You're right: the winner was the entirely different sv:Björn Larsson Ask. "Björn Larsson" probably comes from this page at leica-oskar-barnack-award.com, which looks very careless ("Sebastiao Salgado" for Sebastião Salgado, "Raphael Gaillarde" for Raphaël Gaillarde, etc).
- I've just today created en:Oskar Barnack Award, which presents some evidence for the following claims:
- Dernier récipiendaire = Jan Grarup
- No, Martin Kollar.
- No, not by Leica but instead by World Press Photo.
- 1979 : ?
- 1980 : Floris Bergkamp, (Pays-Bas)
- 1981 : Björn Larsson, (Suède)

- 1993 : Eugene Richards, (États-Unis)

- No. The first award (to Bergkamp) was for 1979, but presented in 1980. The second (to sv:Björn Larsson Ask) was for 1980, but presented in 1981. Et cetera.
