As for the colour, historically the Lion and Sun flag used darker shades for the bands; the original upload of this file mistakenly used the lighter colours appropriated by the Islamic Republic. Also, the shade of red is incorrect, it should be the same as the other Iranian green, white, and red tricolor flags like the former civil flag and the current flag.
