Gnathophausia ingens
Gnathophausia ingens, le crevette rouge géante, est une espèce de crustacé lophogastrié à répartition pantropicale . Les adultes peuvent atteindre 35 cm de long, incluant le rostrum[1].

Les femelles peuvent couver leurs petits jusqu'à 530 jours[2]. Les femelles couveuses vivent entre dans l'océan Pacifique oriental, au large de la Californie. Elles ne se nourrissent pas pendant cette période[3]. Lorsqu'ils se nourrissent, ils s'attaquent à de plus petits crustacés[4].
