Lynda Garland
Lynda Garland (née le ) est enseignante et chercheuse en Histoire à l'université du Queensland en Australie[1]. Ses recherches portent sur l'image de la femme dans l'Antiquité tardive et la société byzantine.

Biographie
modifierLe Pr Lynda Garland est professeure associée honoraire en humanités classiques à la School of Historical and Philosophical Inquiry de l'université du Queensland, en Australie[1]. Elle a été professeure de l'Antiquité et d'Histoire médiévale à l'université de Nouvelle-Angleterre (Australie)[2]. Garland a également enseigné à l'université de Nouvelle-Galles du Sud, et a occupé le poste de directrice de la School of Humanities à l'université de Nouvelle-Angleterre, à Armidale[2],[3].
Le champ d'études de Lynda Garland s’étend de l’Antiquité classique au Haut Moyen Âge. Ses recherches se concentrent sur les femmes, particulièrement les princesses impériales et les impératrices, leurs relations et leur statut au sein de la famille et de la société dans l’Empire byzantin. Parallèlement, elle collabore avec Matthew Dillion à l’université de Nouvelle-Angleterre pour rassembler des documents sociaux et historiques relatifs à la Grèce antique et Rome[4]. Les sources primaires sont traduites en anglais et compilées dans des recueils destinés aux étudiants et aux chercheurs en histoire grecque et romaine, qui peuvent les étudier et les utiliser comme référence.
