Étymologie
modifierTylototriton vient du grec ancien τυλωτός, tylotos, « verrue », et Τρίτων, Trítôn, « Triton », le dieu marin fils de Poséidon et d'Amphitrite, et ce en référence à sa vie en partie aquatique et aux nombreux tubercules glandulaires présents sur sa peau.
