Gait Up SA is a swiss wearable technology company, spin-off of EPFL, developing and commercializing innovative solutions for objective and quantitative motion analysis based on inertial sensor technology. Combining IMU sensors fusion algorithm and biomechanics, they provide human motion analytics for sports, health and industry.

History

modifier

Founded in 2013, Gait Up is a spin-off of the Swiss Institute of Technology of Lausanne EPFL and University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV). The first generation of the Physilog® motion sensor was developped by Prof. Kamiar Aminian in the Laboratory of Movement Analysis and Measurement, EPFL. The Physilog® movement sensor has been widely used and validated against gold-standards in numerous scientific studies on various populations [1] [2] Today, Gait Up is recognized as a fast-growing company, with an annual job growth of at least 20%.[3]

Products and services

Gait Up is positioned as a high-end solution provider in the field of motion technology, focusing on accuracy and quality, with an ISO13485 quality management system in place. Its core activity consists in transferring applied research advances into marketable products through the development of advanced motion sensing solutions. Its expertise covers the prototyping and design of sensor systems, the design of data fusion and signal processing algorithms, the development of production-level code and libraries optimized for wearable devices, and the generation of interpreted clinical or performance-related results. It is active in sports analytics and health assessments segments through its 2 flagship products, namely PhysiGait (gait analysis package), and PhysiRun (running analysis package). Those wearable devices are used by professionals in the fields of sports, healthcare and research. movement tracker to help prevent injuries [4]

In collaboration with Pomoca, a swiss ski skin manufacturer, Gait Up has launched the first smart device conceived by and for ski tourers: Pomocup, already ISPO Award 2017 Winner[5] & Winner of the WT Innovation World Cup 2016/17 [6].
