Historique

modifier

Mosquito-B was founded in 1998 by self-taught musician, professional adman and writer Daniel L. Moisan. In 2001, Dan was joined by André Nadeau on keyboards and this led to the release in Quebec of a first album, in French, entitled Si j’te dis. Fairly well received by public radio, four tracks were broadcast on French Canadian airwaves[1],[2]. Maintaining the momentum, their second album Le Sparadra came out in 2003[3]. Once again, several songs such as the eponymous track Le Sparadra were given airplay on Quebec radio. The success of this second CD caught the attention of Elle, the singer for whom Dan had written the song Amour. In 2007, a collaboration with producers Marc Durand and Fred St-Gelais resulted in a third album Raid, this time in English[4]. « Love After All », one of the tracks on the album, was remixed by Peakafeller and featured on DJ Dan Desnoyers’ Summer Session 2008. In 2010, Mosquito-B was the Canadian guest artist at “Lennon at 70” held in the [[United Kingdom] on October 9 and 10, marking the beginning of a lasting love story with British audiences[5]. The same year, to meet popular demand, the group decided to release a limited vinyl edition of the EP Killing Mars, mixed in the UK by Paul Northfield[6]. The album of the same name was released the following year and the track You’re in, you’re out ewas played on British airwaves. Since 2012, the band has been made up of Dan (bass and vocals), Stéphanie Gagnon (guitar) and Jean-Michel Perier (drums). Their new album Use Less U is set to be released in 2015.
