Figuration Libre - Fluid Figuration
modifier

inspired by Graffiti /Action painting Generosity mastering counterpoints and alliances, governed by regulating lines protecting balances, relieved of all conventional perception and codes. Intense and contrasting chromatism, harsh light and ardent colors being the basic element of this atmosphere, showing a conquered coherence in a dynamic typology, marrying baroque touches with memories and emotions, contrasting schemes, engaged and hopeful, burning of vitality

1990’s 1990 Paris 1993- 1999 Gavirate, Italy Social Expressionism masterly balanced into Descriptive Spiritual Expressionism leading to the personal multimedia show “Revelacion” at the MAC – Museum of Contemporary Art of Santiago, Chile , in 1997 , exhibiting over 100 works of paintings, sculptures, collages and art video installation. In this personal show “Revelacion” , Guelfenbein represents the divine education of the Metamorphosis of Life , Faith in true process, the practice of the art of revelation in the exile of the soul undergone by psychic and mental development where truth, love and faith dominate the artistic cosmos, where ardent vitality and generosity of plastic hand balance and guard these territories eloquently in an optimistic expression.

2003 – 2007 Paris Attitudes Paintings – primal figures Figuration libre – Abstraction gestuelle

modifier

Vital, primitive and eternal forces expressed in figurative materic paintings, overflowing with energy and violence due to the rapidity of the brushstrokes and explosive colors, transferring primal sensations of disturbing implotions that inhabit man where the human figure dominates in an archetypal form represented by a genesic and cosmic vitality representing the universality of mankind.

Portraits d’Attitudes, representing physical spiritual beings, thoughts suggested by a movement, an inclined head, or the position of a body. This work shows human beings in a solitary state, reflecting on the human condition, offering introspective meditation where the being communicates with his inner self.

Figures slightly sketched, almost sculptured in pictorial material detached from a uniform background, a reality barely presented where the painted theme is tucked behind a technique, at the limit of abstraction.

Liquid Portraits - Painting
modifier

Liquid Portraits in thick acrylic paint, figures coming from an entourage, unknown or imaginary in which forms fashion and build expressions. They embody in bold, deep colors, grimaces of fear, signs of ecstasy, forceful or loving relations, presenting vital forces that each of us conceals in the deepest part of our being.

Ambiguity, calm, mystery, boldness, contemplation and astonishment dissolve into the subject.

Fluidity characterizes a volcanic spirit close to the primordial and veiled forces that preside creation exploring the basic energies translated by usage of “sculptural” pictorial matter in colors dominated by primary tonalities.

Liquid Abstractions - Rythmic Painting
modifier

Guelfenbein has today emancipated from the necessity of the image or representation and now follows a pictorial evolution by gesture and colour. All that remains is the movement of the paint and the explosion of colour supported by a textured creamy almost edible matter. The artist executes, with the rhythmic variations of his art, in the primary colours he always has preferred, a gestural acceleration free from all figural contingencies, uninhibited abstract expression, spiralling emotions without limit in infinite, free forms like cosmic creations generating different emotional states of love, beauty, thruth and goodness, open to the imagination of a personal, limitless and free interpretation.

The force which is liberated, brings an aesthetic message which shows the power of paint to authorize the seduction of the eye and of the senses, shocked by the explosive impact of the colors and signs engraved. The material of the work is imprinted by a tactile undulation, a relief texture, visual softness that communicates a vibrating sensation which is almost air born, perception and mood changing in the refraction of light.

His liquid painting technique allows him to transform and proceed in his discovery of his emotional states and moods and to communicate those to his onlooker.
